Lee County EMS (LCEMS) is currently looking for professional and qualified Paramedics to help continue our growth to better meet the needs of the visitors and residents of Lee County. Lee County itself covers approximately 1000 square miles of Florida's southwestern coast.  Home to the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins Spring training facilities as well as home to the Florida EverBlades a professional hockey team (ECHL) and the Florida FireCats an arena football team.  We currently have approximately 600,000 full-time residents and approximately 300,000 + seasonal visitors and residence to the county.  Lee County EMS is a division on Lee County Public Safety, which also encompasses Lee County Emergency Management and Lee County Telecommunications (dispatch aka: Lee Control). LCEMS is a municipal, third-service ground and rotor wing certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) primary response and transport service.  LCEMS answered 74,745 calls for emergency service in 2006 and transported more then 1000 patients via LCEMS's two helicopters a BO 105 and an 2004 state of the art EC-145.  Lee county EMS handles all 911 calls for service throughout the county.  With the ever growing demand for hospital specialties and inter facility transfers, LCEMS oversees and works with the 6 area hospitals to provide emergency and non-emergency interfaculty transfers. LCEMS has also a vast first responder network encompassing over 22 independent fire districts that provide fire service to the residents and visitors of Lee County.  17 of the 22 departments are Advanced Life Support certified.  2 of the 22 fire districts are ALS transport certified as well.  LCEMS utilizes the most advanced technology available to meet the needs of our visitors and residents here in Lee County.  A Motorola 800 Mhz communications network allowing 100% interoperability between FD / EMS / SO / PD.  Medical priority dispatching via PRO QA software is in place to aid LCEMS to deliver the best possible service to the patient. LCEMS currently utilizes Freightliner Ambulances by American LaFrance and is under contract to have them replaced every 7 years.  LCEMS also currently utilizes an E-PCR program which all information is entered into state of the art tablet PC nicknamed the "Hammerhead". At this time LCEMS currently has two work shifts.  A 24 hour rotation and a 12 hour rotation.  All 24 hour shifts start at 0700 and the 12 hour shift times are 0700-1900, 1900-0700, 0930-2130, and 1030-2230.  LCEMS at the present has 28 24 hour Advanced Life Support ambulances and 5 12 hour Advanced Life Support ambulances.  At any given time there are at least 29 ambulances in service 24/7.LCEMS is also at the nations fore-front when it comes to medical protocols.  When asked recently in a pole, medics here most liked the freedom that each provider has medically.  100% off-line medically driven written protocols and  advanced directives, one of the nations most advanced RSI programs named "CAM", and a new cardiac protocol including Lopressor for AMI patients.  Lee County has many "firsts".  LCEMS is also one of the top agencies in that state of Florida when it comes to annual salary.  Pay is negotiated of years of EMS experience in the field.  All hours over 40 in a given pay period is paid at a rate of time and a half.  All pay periods are based on a 56 hour work week.  There are also plenty of overtime opportunities as well.
