Bonner County EMS is
looking for the right person to fill the right position.
Bonner County is nestled in the northern panhandle of
Idaho. We are searching for someone, motivated and
dedicated to the EMS profession. We have one full time
Paramedic position currently available for someone who
wishes to be at the bottom tier of a new EMS agency, looking
skyward toward a bright and exciting horizon. We are
looking for someone who is comfortable in their skills and
possesses positive leadership abilities. Bonner County EMS
is in the first year of operation and growing stronger each
day. We operate under one of the most progressive
pre-hospital protocols to be found and through a vigilant
QA/QI program we are constantly looking to add to our
arsenal. Bonner County is 1,940 square miles of lake,
forest, mountain, valley, rivers and streams. Bonner County
draws skiers, snowboarders, extreme sports enthusiasts,
honeymooners, hunters and hikers from all over the world.
Bonner County paramedics operate in 24 hour shifts on a
“modified” Detroit schedule (24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off,
24 on, 4 days off). The area is a bounty of sports,
relaxation and fun in your down time, with other
conveniences with in a one hour drive. The chosen candidate
will enjoy both a challenging and rewarding career

Requirements:
The chosen candidate must have at least two years ALS of
experience in an active EMS system. National Registry is
required for Idaho EMS reciprocity. Background
investigations will be required. Valid Idaho driver’s
license. Current ACLS, PALS, either PHTLS or BTLS. Bonner
County will require the chosen candidate to be a Bonner
County resident with in sixty days of accepting the
position.
Background:
Bonner county EMS was designed and implemented out of
necessity. A little over a year ago, the ALS provider in
the area went out of business and the county decided it was
in the best interest of the population, for Bonner County to
provide the EMS system that is in place today. Bonner
County EMS operates one paramedic chase unit, one paramedic
ambulance, one “roving” paramedic chase unit (which is
staffed by availability) three ILS level ambulances and the
system supports two other ILS level units.
The preferred candidates will not only posses the already
mentioned criteria, but also, demonstrate a genuine
determination to see this new system flourish. the
candidate will also show a sincere interest in both our in
house education and our outreach education programs. The
most important aspect of the mentality of the preferred
candidate will be attitude and motivation.
